Our first primary school ChemBOX project has been funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry!

We worked closel with three primary schools in Tamworth in Staffordshire, running regular science sessions with Year 3 pupils. Tamworth is a region of the UK where low numbers of young people go on to higher education and we’re hoping that some early interventions will help to inspire some of the children.

Throughout the year, regular visits to three schools were made. The year culminated in 135 students visiting the University of Birmingham for a ‘Dragon comes to Birmingham’ themed day. This included a ‘Discover Materials’ section, a visit to the Lapworth museum, a bath bomb making session and a demo lecture.
