Description of my research:  I try and make useful things like batteries from waste plant matter.

Favourite thing about my job: I like the fact that I get to do experiments and teach people rather than just sit in an office all the time

Coolest thing I’ve ever done: I lived in Japan for 2 years and climbed some volcanoes while I was there!

My earliest memory of science: I used to love dinosaurs when I was little and I wanted to be a palaeontologist.

Favourite scientist from history: Michael Faraday

Favourite food: Chocolate brownie and ice cream

Favourite subject when I was at school: I liked all the science subjects

Hobbies: I really like making cakes. I made a Frozen cake for my daughter’s 4^th birthday. I like learning about wildlife too.

Interesting fact about me: When I lived in Japan I loved singing karaoke
