I am a final year MSci Chemistry undergraduate at the University of Birmingham, currently working on developing new targets for TB.
As president of the Women in Science and Engineering society (WISE), I am a keen advocate for increasing diversity in STEM, and believe outreach in local schools is a key way to achieve this!
Last year I set up a mentoring scheme in a local primary school, which involved training volunteers to deliver self-contained practical STEM workshops of their own design once a week. My work on this project meant I was awarded both an outreach award and an idea of the year award at the annual EPS Societies’ Awards, and was also shortlisted for a national STEM Inspiration award.

I am also a registered STEM ambassador and enjoy volunteering at a variety of one-off events, such as the Big Bang Science Fair, which I have been involved with every year since being a finalist in 2012.
