Description of my job: I am the School of Chemistry Technical Manager – I make sure people are working safely and ensure everything is in place to allow research to happen smoothly

Favourite thing about my job: Knowing that I help to keep people safe whilst they are carrying out exciting and innovative research

Coolest thing I’ve ever done: Separate from Science – I once did a bungee jump! In Science – making new materials for batteries  

My earliest memory of science: Hands-on science at primary school – sinking and floating experiments. Experimenting first hand was a great way to learn, and I still remember it many years on!

Favourite scientist from history: Marie Curie

Favourite food: Curry

Favourite subject when I was at school: Literacy (and Science of course!)

Hobbies: Cycling, camping, reading, spending time with my family

Interesting fact about me: I can touch my nose with my tongue, and can write with both my left and my right hand!
